In 1978, I was honored to be selected by the Norwegian Foreign Affairs and the National Committee of United World College to attend Pearson College in Canada. It was there I first understood the power of connection: How can there be peace without understanding, and understanding without truly knowing each other?
After earning my International Baccalaureate, I spent a year traveling the world as a street musician, funding my journey with creativity and resilience. Later, I recorded a self-financed album of my own lyrics and music, embracing the highs and lows of a “pop star” dream.
During my master’s in business at BI, I dove into stock trading, an all-or-nothing venture that taught me humility and hard-earned lessons. From there, I built a real estate company with a portfolio valued at over NOK 100 million by 1986, thanks to the trust of kind bankers.
My professional journey has taken me from customer service to co-directing Olympia Holding, which was later sold to John Fredriksen.
Along the way, I’ve explored life’s profound questions—from deep conversations with Mongolian shamans to ice swimming with penguins in Antarctica. I’ve interviewed one of the USA’s most beloved presidents, worked as a high school teacher for immigrants, and volunteered for the non-profit magazine =Oslo, where I captured stories of both hardship and triumph. At present, I am actively involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Additionally, I sponsor Ecomoy School and Milles 46 both located in Kenya.
With over 500 in-depth interviews for Kapital and Finansavisen, I’ve come to understand what drives people to go beyond their comfort zones. Growth happens when we dare to try—even when failure looms. Recently, I embraced documentary filmmaking, partnering with Viking Cruises to capture the transformative beauty of Antarctica aboard the Viking Polaris. This experience reaffirmed my belief in stepping into the unknown, as Charlie Chaplin put it best: “Failure is unimportant. It takes courage to make a fool of yourself.”
I have conducted over 500 personal portrait interviews in Scandinavia's #1 business magazine, Kapital & Finansavisen, ranging from self-made tycoons to US Presidents to identify their common success traits and each person's authenticity. This have resulted in personal branding & legacy.
